Spotlight on Holmes Mill, Clitheroe
Holmes Mill is a former textile Mill built in 1823 and located in the historic market town of Clitheroe. From its industrial beginnings it has become a hub of culinary delights, showcasing local produce from knowledgeable suppliers.
On the ground floor guests can enjoy cocktails and bistro dining. Located in the Beer Hall is the longest bar in Britain (at 105ft) with 24 individual cask beers. Perfect for those who enjoy tasting a variety of beers, lagers and ciders! There is also something for Gin and fizz lovers, if that’s your tipple of choice.
You can discover the taste of Italy with freshly made Gelato. Behind the beer hall is the Bowland Brewery, offering tours with the chance to sample the wonderful ales, you’ll be an expert in no time!
The food hall showcases an incredible variety of produce from veg to cheese, olive oil and smoothies – it’s truly a haven for foodies.
They also plan to open a gym, pool and spa later this year. It’s a great example of old historic buildings being repurposed to better suit these modern times. From personal experience after a recent visit to this wonderful place, we can safely say the variety is amazing and the food is wonderful, well worth the trip. It’s not just a food hall, it’s an experience.
