Tune in to your holiday!

Music has to be one of the best things to take with you. Whether you’re jamming along to a CD on the drive to Laythams or walking through the woodland with an iPod serenading you. There’s nothing quite like summer tunes.

So we’ve shuffled together some of the top albums for whatever mood you may be in when at Laythams.

Ok, so picture this: you’re dancing in the kitchen cooking dinner for your children, bringing the wooden spoon to your mouth as a microphone. Singing along to Magic’s self-titled album. From songs like ‘Rude’ and ‘Don’t Kill the Magic’, it’s a pleasing album in its entirety. It’s a get up and dance album.

Or maybe you like an album that really shifts your mood up and down from song to song. In that case, you may be interested in James Blunt’s ‘Moon Landing’, from the hit song ‘Bonfire Heart’ to the more sedate ‘Miss America’ the album can leave you chilling with a saucepan of bubbling bolognaise (love that alliteration).

If you’re into your big movies, the ‘Awesome Mix Vol. 1’ soundtrack to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ may tickle your fancy. From the famous ‘Hooked on a Feeling’ to the amusing ‘Escape (the Pina Colada Song)’ – I mean, even the title is funny – it keeps you smiling and links them to epic scenes. This would be a good album for the car journey up to Laythams! The children (and adults) would be kept entertained with it!

Or do you have need of some quiet time. Some pretty music that helps relax you after a busy day spent doing various activities. Well, Ludovic Einaudi’s ‘Islands’ provides a nice respite from energetic music and allows you to sink into the sofa. The piano tracks will help you unwind and appreciate the quiet that resides in Laythams just like any other resident.

So what do you think? Have we covered all the basics? Are there ones that you’re not keen on? Comment below!
